D Shape

D-shaped carabiners are the

most versatile and are eff icient

in a variety of different situations.

Pear Shape

These carabiners have a large

basket. They are recommended

for carrying gear, tying a Munter

hitch, or to use at anchor points.

Oval Shape

These carabiners are designed

for use with pulleys and progress-

capture pulleys.

cause an automatic locking

system to jam.

TWIST-LOCK

Automatic locking system

designed for very frequent use;

for use at the end of a lanyard or

for connecting assisted-blocking

belay devices to the harness.

Double-action opening by turning

the sleeve, then pressing

on the gate.

BALL-LOCK

Automatic locking system

designed for frequent use.

The triple-action opening consists

of pressing on the green indicator,

turning the sleeve, then pressing

on the gate. The green button

indicates when the gate is locked.

TRIACT-LOCK

Automatic locking system.

The triple-action opening consists

of raising and turning the sleeve,

then pressing on the gate.

Features of Petzl Carabiners

Locking Carabiners

Fluid Interior Design

The f luid interior design of Petzl

locking carabiners limits the risk

of the nose getting caught while

clipping and facilitates rotation

of the carabiner.

H-Frame

Carabiners have an H-frame

that provides an optimal

strength-to-weight ratio, protects

the markings from abrasion,

and offers excellent handling,

even when wearing gloves.

Keylock System

To provide optimal eff iciency, all Petzl

carabiners use the Keylock system:

the nose of the carabiner, where the

body and gate meet, does not have

a notch that could snag on anchors,

ropes, harness equipment loops,

or other gear.
