Creating new habits
The massages were such a success that they will continue
at the Crolles site throughout the year, once a month. Other
initiatives have been continued at this site, such as the twice-
monthly delivery of home-made bakery products, following
the introduction of small local markets organised by Christelle
Torelli, Production Controller, during the EWSSD.
These are all examples of the committee’s goal of responding
to concrete needs while anchoring its actions in the day-to-day
lives of employees over the long term.
Personal Commitment
for the Collective Good
One of the strengths of the EWSSD at Petzl is the direct
involvement of employees. “Some employees lead workshops
or of fer talks, which showcases their talents and increases time
for sharing between employees,» explains Aurélie.
This was the case for the DIY workshop on weaving rugs
from rope of fcuts, organised and run by Kaf ia Bendib, Trade
Marketing Manager, and Laurent de la Fouchardière, Action
Photo Production Manager, which was a great success. “These
moments create connections, showcase in-house talent and
raise awareness of reuse,” adds Aurélie.
This collaborative approach makes the event a space for
discussion and passing on knowledge, where everyone can
express themselves and contribute.
Aurélie Gascon is a graphic designer and member of the
Ecological Transition committee of the company’s works
council, which has been open to all employees since 2022. She
has been co-organising the event with a group of volunteers
for the last two years, as well as with the support of the
Foundation and the CSR team. The success of the sustainable
development week “depends on the direct involvement of
employees, whether they are leading a workshop or sharing
an idea. We wanted everyone to feel part of this project,” she
explains. Employees are encouraged to contribute their ideas
and get involved in projects outside their core business.
Reaching out to employees
The EWSSD is based on simple but meaningful initiatives
designed to appeal to as many people as possible. “Invitations
are sent to people’s calendars. Events are publicised via our
internal network, Workplace, passed on directly by managers,
and via information screens in production zones in order to get
employees as involved as possible,” explains Aurélie.
To ensure that these moments of togetherness and sharing are
as inclusive as possible some workshops and presentations are
held within plants This year chair massages were of fered at the
Crolles and Eybens sites These 20minute sessions charged
at 5 gave employees the opportunity to relax and release
physical tension We designed this activity to reach out to those
who dont have much time to take part These massages of fer
them a benef icial break without disrupting their work rhythm
says Aurélie
In France, around 44% of employees say that
their quality of life at work has a direct impact on
their productivity and loyalty to the company*.
At Petzl, the European Week for Sustainable
Development (EWSSD), which takes place
every year, has become a key event for raising
awareness, taking action and improving quality
of life at work.
