Using two systems simultaneously on two separate

anchors provides optimal balance while cutting and

facilitates movement.

Movement Within the Tree

EJECT and NAJA are used here

on doubled rope (DdRT/MRS),

but may also be used on single rope

(SRT/SRS) with a stopper knot.

Single rope

ascent technique

The access rope is attached

to the base of the tree and runs

through an appropriate anchor

in the tree. It will also be used

for work. On a single rope,

the ZIGZAG must only be

used with the CHICANE.

This technique allows for rapid

rescue and efficient climbing

with the KNEE ASCENT knee

ascender.

Tree Access

Doubled rope

ascent technique

The arborist ascends

the access rope (purple).

In the event of a problem,

such as a hornet attack,

they can self-evacuate with

the work rope (blue). A mule

knot or releasable knot secures

the ZIGZAG.

This versatile ascent technique

is adaptable to many situations

and allows an access rope

to be available during work.
