Using an adjustable lanyard allows you to adjust the length of your fall-arrest system and therefore reduce fall distance
while adapting to work situations.

Free fall distance
Clearance
• While at height: choose your anchor
The simplest way to reduce fall distance is to use the highest
anchor possible in relation to your work position.
• Before leaving the ground: choose your fall-arrest system
The total length of the system determines maximum free fall distance.
Reduce Fall Distance
The longer the free fall, the greater the absorber deployment
will be. The required minimum clearance (distance between
the user and an obstacle), should therefore be greater than
those values combined.
User weight, lanyard length, and position in relation to the
anchor can affect these values.
It’s possible to reduce fall distance before leaving the ground
or once you’ve already started working at height.
