Forward
The challenges we’re facing today require us
to radically change the way we do business
and the way our society functions.
Tackling this unprecedented
environmental impasse with limited
resources
3
will require us to deeply
and fully overhaul our business models,
modes of production, and circulation of
goods. That means f inding new solutions
and design tools that are more sustainable,
reparable, and recyclable, ensuring
the intrinsic value of our products.
These major projects will demand a healthy
dose of optimism and will.

OPTIMISM AND WILL
Climate news from the end of the year
has left no room for doubt. 2023 was
the warmest year on record since we
began collecting meteorological data.
The human race is facing alarming
circumstances outlined in the IPCC

How can the leader of an industrial
company face this reality while ensuring
that their business remains f iscally
sustainable in a competitive market?
Every day, it challenges us to balance
“pessimism of the intellect, optimism
of the will”

This Impact Report outlines the work
put forth by all our teams to improve
the following: educating employees on
environmental topics via the Climate Fresk,
reducing resource consumption through
eco-friendly design, inform customers
about the impact of our products using Life
Cycle Analysis (LCA) data, and limiting the
impact of transporting goods by relocating
distribution centers closer to our customers.
Each topic is complex and requires
creativity, courage, and resources.
Petzl has decided to allocate 1% of revenue
over the next 3 years to funding these
transformative projects.
