#01 A COLLABORATIVE CSR APPROACH, PART OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN
Means of Action Central
to Company Strategy
We established what we call the “CSR
1%”, which means allocating 1% of
our revenue to f inancing CSR-centric
projects.
With a well-def ined budget, we revised
our plans to include: updated stakeholder
interests, regulatory constraints, and the
knowledge we’ve acquired over the last f ive
years as CSR has become a central topic.
Our CSR plan is fully integrated into our
business strategy. It’s managed at the
highest level and deployed across the
company via three different channels:
CSR Management, represented on the
Executive Committee and supported by the
CSR Strategy Committee; the CSR Team,
currently 4 full-time employees who roll-out
projects and support industry experts; and
the Ecological Transition Commission, which
Rooted in cross-departmental
collaboration, our approach is built
around two foundational elements.
First, in 2020, we surveyed 2,000
people representative of all the
stakeholders at Petzl and used the
results to create our f irst Materiality
Assessment. This helped us better
understand and organize our
priorities as a company. We then
launched our f irst CSR project
strategy, where we distributed
responsibilities across dif ferent
departments, involved our teams,
and began acting on our priorities.
While we still rely on these foundational
elements, our approach to CSR continues
to evolve and grow.
