administering their own carbon assessment,

That’s twice the number of suppliers we

supported the year before.

The percentage of incinerated waste slightly increased in 2023 due to a change

in partnership that required the implementation of more rigorous sorting methods.

Supporting our suppliers: We continue

to implement our responsible purchasing

plan with several steps: we evaluate our

suppliers, identify areas of improvement,

and offer support. This year, we strengthened

the environmental component of our

evaluation tool and increased requirements

for monitoring carbon emissions.

#01 A COLLABORATIVE CSR APPROACH, PART OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN

Summary of Our Actions

Decarbonizing our supply chain:

To optimize the f low of goods in

the Asia-Pacif ic, we set up a logistical

hub in Malaysia so that we could

store locally-manufactured products

and ship directly to our distributors

and customers in the same region,

without the need to go through France.

This is a more logical approach that

signif icantly reduces CO

emissions.

2023 KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Elimination of single-use plastics:

In 2021, we found that 79 metric tons of

non-reusable plastic was used for product

packaging, so we committed to totally

eliminating it by 2025. In 2023, we reduced

this number to 23 metric tons — a 70%

decrease, putting us well on our way to

meeting our objective. Totally eliminating

single-use plastic in our helmet packaging

by the end of 2024 will help us save

12 metric tons of plastic every year.

Collaboration and sharing best practices

with other fellow outdoor industry

players: Alongside OSV (Outdoor Sports

Valley), Petzl hosted and co-organized a day

of discussion and collaboration on current

environmental topics, including measuring

and communicating the carbon footprint

of products, regulations, and Life Cycle

Analysis (LCA).
