Petzl - Impact Report 2022

We understand that awareness is just the first step to addressing solutions. However, Petzl participants confirmed the workshop s value. They highlighted its accessibility and useful knowledge. They also mentioned aspects of conviviality and a reinforcement of cross-department connection. This balanced out negative emotions that some participants experience anger, sadness, or guilt.

I had never heard of the Climate Fresk before. The format was a pleasant surprise. Working together without any advanced scientific knowledge, we were able to simply construct the chain reaction of cause, consequence, impact. Throughout the game, something becomes very obvious: intertwining natural disasters lead to disruptions, which lead to issues.

Lean Manufacturing at Petzl is a method of increasing efficiency by eliminating waste. We didn t achieve this in a single year. Remaining humble, setting small, short-term goals, taking modest and progressive steps towards the objective; that s how we effectively achieve our objectives. That is my belief.

2022 ACTIONS

Training plays an important role in the consideration and proper implementation of CSR topics. Petzl has two key objectives when it comes to achieving ecological transition and getting teams on board to look for low-impact solutions. We will support change and help every employee understand the stakes.

The Climate Fresk is the first step in understanding foundational climate issues, identifying the impact of our operations, and devising solutions. Functioning as an objective tool and collaborative workshop, the Fresk was created using established scientific data. In 2022, the Petzl executive committee participated in the workshop. The opportunity was then proposed to managers in France, 80% of whom participated.
