PETZL AMERICA
In 2021, Petzl America established the Access Committee with a focus on integrating principles of DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) into the workplace. Since its inception, the group has been able to take action in a variety of ways:
- Hosted a DEI specialist to educate internal staff on best practices and topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Held a women s climbing night for Petzl employees and family members, providing an opportunity for connection through climbing in a welcoming environment
- Externally, the group held a food drive for the Utah Food Bank and donated over 350lbs (158kg) of food to Utahns in need
A staff survey was conducted within Petzl America in 2022 to help guide future Access Committee priorities and actions.
OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM
Since its launch in 2021, our social platform, Tam-Tam, has become the primary internal communication network at Petzl. It has been broadly adopted by employees.
Today, 92.79% of employees have created an account on Tam-Tam.
In 2022, 76% of users connected at least once a month, and 44% at least once a day.
2,885 posts have been made on the platform.
MEASURES
Change is inevitable at any company, especially international companies.
Change is often viewed as a necessity, but can often generate insecurity and increase workload.
To manage change at Petzl, we must take certain steps. We must set the course for the larger goal while defining objectives at the departmental and individual level. We must justify the changes we make in reference to our strategy and purpose statement. And we must communicate, identify resistance to change, and allocate necessary resources.
The person should be a manager s top priority, and their goal should be to understand how each person may act or react.
That s why Petzl offered all managers the opportunity to participate in a training on the fundamentals of human change management.
The leadership committee, as well as 36 other managers, were trained in 2022. Training will continue to be offered in 2023.
