2022 Projects From Petzl America Employees Two projects were proposed by Petzl America employees in Salt Lake City, Utah. These employees are volunteers for these organizations, donating their time to the causes that are important to them.
The Utah Avalanche Center provides training for employees working in the outdoor industry in Utah. Their courses teach fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for practicing winter mountain sports, including avalanche rescue. Utah Avalanche Center Sponsor: Tom Adams, Chief Operating Officer
To help Ukrainians fleeing the Russian invasion, Petzl America employees sent products to help cover basic needs. As most people in areas under siege were living underground in basements and subway stations, the Petzl Foundation sent 250 headlamps to Lifting Hands International to help families taking shelter from bomb attacks. Gresi Birds is an organization that brings people with and without disabilities together to play Wheelchair Floorball. It s an activity that helps transform perspectives and educate able-bodied people about adaptive sports. The Petzl Foundation contributed to the purchase of an adaptive sport wheelchair. CoMet - Cooperation, Mediation, Ethnology - is a Grenoble-based organization that offers group hikes in the mountains for women who are victims of violence, to help them regain their confidence. 2022 PROJECTS
Sport climbing is developing in Nepal. In 2022, the organization, Nepal Climbing Team, established 27 new routes near Manag, along the Annapurna Circuit. A Petzl employee joined the group to help develop the area, with financial support from the Petzl Foundation. The sector is becoming the largest sport climbing area in Nepal. Athletes from Grenoble Handisport will participate in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The Petzl Foundation contributed financial support to help provide a tandem cyclist for visually impaired athletes. Petits frères des pauvres (Little Brothers of the Poor) is an organization that accompanies seniors who are socially isolated, at-risk, or seriously ill. For the sixth year in a row, the Petzl Foundation is supporting employee service projects by donating to the organizations these employees volunteer with. The selection committee is composed of employees whose projects were selected the prior year. This year, they chose 8 projects 2 of which were from Petzl America.
