In 2020, we surveyed 2,000 people, representative of all the stakeholders at Petzl. This survey helped us prioritize issues according to three criteria: urgency to act, Petzl s ability to act, and estimated impact on the company s operations.

The materiality assessment allowed us to place each issue into one of three groups.

Safety is the first group it s the most important issue for all our stakeholders and the foundation of our purpose statement. Because safety is a core element in our business strategy and everyday operations, it is not addressed in the CSR policy.

The second group represents issues that are foundational to our CSR strategy; it was divided into four quantifiable objectives.

The third category is composed of issues not considered top priority, but that will be addressed by other departments.

At Petzl, our approach to CSR is pragmatic and collaborative. It is built on several key elements and rooted in concrete actions, most often carried out with our stakeholders. 1 - High-level management and cross- functional deployment via multiple entities Led by Sébastien Petzl, CSR Director and Executive Committee member, the CSR strategy is implemented company-wide, with involvement from three complementary entities. The CSR committee works to align the overall strategic plan with our CSR commitments. The CSR department proposes and organizes cross-functional projects, carried out by all departments. Lastly, the Ecological Transition Commission proposes and executes plans for everyday improvement. This commission is volunteer-based and open to all employees.

2 - Prioritizing issues via the materiality assessment To establish our CSR strategy and road map, we ve identified four pillars and 16 key issues to address within those pillars.
