Impact Report
Paul Petzl
In 2006 , I created the Petzl Foundation to open up the
company to the non - prof it world and to give back to
the environment that enabled it to come into being and
grow . Taking action for the causes we believe in shifts
the boundaries and opens up new paths .
After 20 years of existence , the Petzl Foundation has
already supported nearly 400 public - interest projects ,
all linked by a common thread : the mountains or the
vertical world .
More than € 8 million , granted to associations , resear
-
chers and local authorities , has helped improve acci -
dent prevention , support the ecological transition and
foster access to the mountains for people facing diff icult
circumstances .
M
oney is only a means — just a little oil in
the gears . The real success of these pro
-
jects lies above all in the energy of hun -
dreds of volunteers : always passionate ,
often deeply committed , driven by a de
-
sire to take action and to contribute to a cause greater
than themselves .
Among all these commitments in the public interest , it is
diff icult to single out only a few . In the following pages ,
we look back at several emblematic projects that have
shaped the history of our Foundation , because they
have shifted the boundaries and strengthened the vitality
of the collective .
