Structuring , deploying ,
measuring
Over the years , we have rolled out a broad range
of actions , a dynamic that has also been reinforced
by the development of regulations and customer
requirements .
• 80 % of procurement spend is covered by sup
-
pliers who have signed the code of conduct ;
• regular CSR assessments carried out through ex
-
ternal audits or internal assessment tools
support for suppliers in carrying out their carbon
footprint assessments
training teams in responsible purchasing prac
tices and regulatory developments
But as these challenges have grown in scale one
question arose how can we structure this ap
proach sustainably and make it legible for all the
stakeholders concerned both internally and exter
nally
Enhanced due diligence
As early as 2010 , an initial ethical code of conduct
was formalised and circulated . The aim at the time
was to share our requirements , raise our partners ’
awareness of social and environmental issues , and
formalise their commitment through signature of
the code . Because our suppliers are present on
every continent , working internationally entails en
-
hanced due diligence : working conditions , respect
for human rights , environmental impacts — all of
these issues must be approached with lucidity and
rigour
In 2021 our commitment took on a new dimen
sion we set ourselves the objective of suppor
ting all our direct strategic suppliers in their CSR
approach by 2025 Today that objective is close
to being achieved 70 of these suppliers have
already been assessed and all of them will be by
2026 But this is not just a box ticking exercise it
is deep ongoing work that requires genuine col
laboration identifying gaps building improvement
plans and progressing together over the long term
When we talk about our impacts , we look beyond the walls of our
factories . Our responsibility is much broader ; it begins right from the
supply chain . At Petzl , we know that making progress on sustainability
means bringing all our partners and suppliers on board . That is exactly
what our collaboration with the international AMFORI network is about .
Its mission ? To audit our suppliers through a shared approach and
support us in evolving our social and environmental practices throughout
our value chain .
