The right moment to take
things to the next level
Petzl ’ s environmental roadmap is an integral part of
its strategic plan . It is supported by all employees
and is already translating into tangible progress .
This momentum is deeply rooted in the company ’ s
history we want to give something back to nature
for all that it enables us to create each day But to
turn this ambition into coherent lasting action we
felt we needed a common framework one that
would be robust and clear both internally and for
our customers and partners But which one ISO
14001 2015 had often been discussed but had
never yet been implemented The company did not
feel ready partly out of concern that teams might
not fully come on board and partly because we were
simply not mature enough yet on certain issues
Several ingredients were needed to take this step :
resources , greater maturity on environmental is
-
sues , but also a team ready to rise to the challenge
with positive energy . The context also played an im -
portant role . Regulatory requirements are becoming
stricter , and customer expectations are growing ,
particularly in the professional sector , which now
accounts for 65 of Petzl s turnover
In 2024 the time was f inally right Even though eve
rything still had to be built we shared one convic
tion ISO 14001 2015 certif ication could provide
the framework we needed to structure our actions
and strengthen the solidity of our commitments
Two teams therefore decided to work together on
the subject led by Stéphane Rubatat Systems
Product Quality Manager and Richard Cousin CSR
Manager
At Petzl , the environmental transition began several years ago . Rooted
in the heritage of a family business with more than f ifty years of history ,
this approach is part of a long - term culture . It is being built step by step ,
with all our teams . ISO 14001 : 2015 certif ication is helping to structure this
momentum , make it more legible , and provide a framework for turning
commitments into concrete action .
