At the same time , we also launched
another structuring initiative : drafting
a responsible purchasing charter .
The code of conduct def ines our
expectations towards partners .
The charter , for its part , formalises
Petzl ’ s own commitments . It sets out
a clear framework and measurable
objectives , shared internally . Questions
for Marlène Dechenaud , Responsible
Purchasing Coordinator and the person
in charge of drafting this charter .
What exactly does this charter contain ?
We started from our priority issues , identif ied
through our materiality matrix . From there , we
integrated them into our purchasing policy and our
operational processes . Each issue is associated
with performance indicators . That is essential : we
do not just want to display intentions we want
to measure the effectiveness and sustainability
of our purchasing policy In concrete terms we
manage several key topics regulatory monitoring
supplier monitoring on social and environmental
issues compliance with fair competition and the
deployment of our duty of vigilance
Marlène , what is the role of the new responsible
purchasing policy rolled out since the end of
2025 ?
The objective of this policy is to structure what
we have already been putting in place for several
years and make it measurable . We want to share a
common vision of responsible purchasing at Petzl
and this policy provides a guiding line for all the
teams in contact with suppliers so that everyone
can move forward in the same direction It also
helps recognise the work of buyers it creates a
link between our practices the training we put in
place and the objectives to be achieved Lastly
this charter supports our certif ication processes
launched in 2025 whether for ISO 14001 or
EcoVadis
