A network and a common
framework to go further
To meet this challenge , Petzl chose to join AMFORI
in 2024 , an international network of companies
committed to a more sustainable value chain .
AMFORI provides its members with a common
framework and shared tools to assess and improve
the social and environmental performance of their
suppliers around the world .
Its framework is based on two complementary
standards :
1 — Social issues ( BSCI , Business Social Com
-
pliance Initiative ) : covering working conditions ,
human rights , the prevention of forced labour
and ethics .
2 — Environmental performance ( BEPI , Business
Environmental Performance Initiative ) .
AMFORI then refers approved audit bodies to carry
out audits on behalf of its members with suppliers .
These audits are mutualised and the results shared ,
which avoids duplication and strengthens their cre
-
dibility . For Petzl , it is also a way of prioritising sup -
pliers that had not previously been audited , particu -
larly in countries considered to be at risk .
For Marlène Dechenaud , Responsible Purcha -
sing Coordinator , AMFORI is above all a space
