Of course , we have a responsibility as an employer ,

both moral and legal . But Élodie chooses above all

to approach the issue from a positive angle : “ It is an

opportunity to strengthen the solidity of the collec

-

tive . It pushes us to evolve our organisation and our

practices , and to rebalance certain aspects . It is a

real lever for building a more sustainable working

environment ” .

Taking the pulse

Before transforming , you f irst

have to listen . You have to im

-

merse yourself in the heart of

how the collective functions ,

take the pulse of the organi

-

sation , identify its strengths

but above all its fragile points ,

and accept looking at things as

they are in order to try to un

derstand them

To do this Élodie decided to

launch an audit Twenty four

interviews were conducted by

clinical psychologists The re

sults were shared with the CSE and then with the

employees who had been interviewed Transparen

cy is essential Talking about mental health at work

means accepting that we need to look our organi

sation in the face and ask ourselves collectively are

we giving everyone the means to do their job well

and to feel well In a company where commitment

and pride in belonging are strong vigilance is all the

more important Loving your job should not lead to

overload or burnout

Mental health at work :

a collective challenge

In January 2026 , a survey conducted in France

by Ipsos and BVA revealed that 22 % of working

people considered themselves to be in poor men

-

tal health . That represents nearly six million people .

The f igure is slightly lower , but it remains signif icant -

ly higher than it was before the COVID health crisis .

In this context , working condi -

tions , employee well - being and

health , both physical and men -

tal , have become major issues

for every organisation . This was

one of the f irst projects opened

by Élodie Jeanningros , who

joined Petzl just a year ago .

“ When you are HR Director ,

there is naturally a strong fo

-

cus on occupational health and

safety issues When I arrived I

quickly shared the ambition of

bringing the health and safety of

our employees up to the same

level as the safety standards we

apply for our end users Our actions must address

both the physical and mental integrity of our teams

Among these actions reducing psychosocial risks

plays an important role It is a central issue because

it affects both people s health and the way our col

lective functions she explains

At Petzl , caring for people is part of the com -

pany ’ s culture . At a time when mental health has

become a major public health issue , we have

launched a comprehensive approach to support

employees who need it , strengthen the collec -

tive and give greater meaning to work . Audit ,

multidisciplinary committee , leave donation ,

skills - based volunteering : we combine listening ,

dialogue , solidarity and collective action .

“ Bringing the health

and safety of our

employees up

to the same level

as the safety

standards we apply

for our end users
